HISTORY AND ORIGIN

The Choir Boys L.E.M.C. originated in Southern California and was conceived on February 17, 1991. The club was founded by Jay Ellsworth and Rocco Shonts, two Police Officers from Vernon Police Department located n Los Angeles County, California. They both enjoyed riding Harley Davidson Motor Cycles and the camaraderie of other Law Enforcement Officers. While participating at a "Support the Troops" Ride that ended at a small biker bar in La Vida Canyon, Brea, California they sat down and started discussing on how they could develop an exclusive Police Officers - Harley Davidson Only club. During their discussion Jay Ellsworth developed and drew the clubs colors on a bar napkin and the clubs name was taken from the 1970's movie "The Choir Boys" which was made from the book "Choir Boys" by LAPD Sgt. Joseph Wambaugh. "Choir Practice" is a term meaning to go out after work and socialize. The rest is history.

MISSION STATEMENT

"The Choir Boys Law Enforcement Motorcycle Clubs mission is to promote the sport of motorcycling, to enhance the brotherhood between law enforcement personnel and to support and contribute funds to the widows and children of officers killed in the line of duty".

DEVELOPMENT

As the years moved on, the club grew. California now has 8 regions with approximately 500 members. In the last four years the club has seen it's largest growth with 6 regions in Arizona, 1 region in West Texas, 1 region in Northern Nevada, 1 region in South Dakota and now 1 region in New Mexico.

As the club grows, with it's fine reputation of professionalism, other areas in California have shown an interest in becoming regions along with other several other states becoming chapters.

The By-laws of the club keep it's members at the highest level of professionalism and order. The club contains police personnel with a wide variety of job assignments along with members that are at the executive, command and supervisory levels.

Our members hold our club in high regard. Our by-laws are strict and we demand a high level of personal and professional conduct. Any member who discredits our club is subject to dismissal.
